Have you had issues with fruit flies this summer? Getting on top of the issue is an annual cycle of activity in the garden. By coordinating the efforts of home gardeners, commercial fruit growers, local council and community groups, the aim is to achieve “Area Wide Management of QFF”. The Yarra Valley is in a good position to manage the pest only if everyone does their bit. In this presentation, she focuses on integrated pest management techniques, and the practical application of various processes and tools to best prevent and manage QFF. There’s no silver bullet, so it is essential that the complexity of the QFF population is understood and key lifecycle stages are targeted.
One of the benefits of best practice management of QFF is the protection of the insect biodiversity - the native pollinators and biological pest management insects that are beneficial to all agriculture
All sessions are recorded and those booked in will receive the recording link which is active for two weeks.
